This year’s 127th running of the Velka Pardubicka with Česká pojišťovna attracted 700 000 more television viewers than last year’s race. The highpoint of the Czech steeplechasing season was watched by 3 000 000 viewers on Czech Television’s ČT1 and ČT Sport channels. Others watched the transmission on foreign channels and in PMU betting offices in 24 countries. Twenty-two thousand spectators watched the race at the course.

Advance sales of tickets for the Velka Pardubice have begun!

Eight months before the runners for this year’s 126th Velka Pardubicka with Česká pojišťovna go to the start, tickets came on sale for the highpoint of this year’s Czech steeplechasing season. Ticket sales, for seats and for entry to the racecourse without a seat, began on February 1st, 2016. There is an interesting discount on tickets bought early in the year for entry without a seat.

First place in the 2015 Velka Pardubicka is awarded to Ribelino

On January 28th, 2016, The Discipinary Committee of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic announced the disqualification of Nikas, first past the post in the 125th running of the Velka Pardubicka. Banned substances had been found in the body fluids of the 10-year-old gelding, which had been prepared for the race by trainer Stanislav Popelka. The committee’s decision changes the placings for the Velka Pardubicka. First place now goes to Ribelino, a 7-y-o running in the race for the first time, and to his jockey Pavel Kašný.
